Artist's Comments

Dominic Monaghan, drawn on May 1, 2008.

I recently was looking through lots of pictures of Dom, and realized I'd only ever drawn him as Charlie on Lost, and he always looked serious, so I wanted to drawn him with his adorable, goofy smile :D

Don't know if it's really noticeable, but I drew this one on watercolor paper, because I'm sick of the smooth paper I've been using. It was sort of wierd to draw on, but I think it turned out all right.

Very nice!
An excellent portrait, very friendly and peaceful. Like his eyes, and the smile.
I don't think it would hurt to go a bit darker with the shading, though. Makes it less monocrome, more 3D. Ah, I seem to always say that, because I love contrast myself. Whatever suits you.

Yeah he was on Lost. Though it's not a movie, its a tv show....

"I love how you've done his hair"
Thanks! I normally get bored with hair as well, but Dom's is quite easy to draw, I think...

Thanks! Yeah, those were the main reasons I chose to draw this picture, I love his eyes & smile, and i'd never drawn him smiling before.

I like shading in pictures as well, but there really weren't alot in this picture. It was pretty bright actually. I actually shaded one side of his nose & face more than it is in the actual picture, see [link]
